The following are important for evaluation of measurement results:

  • All chargeable users (non-chargeable users are, for example, substitute, test, and multi-client users) and Engines in the productive clients of the system.

  • The number of ABAP Workbench users in all systems

The relevant number of these users is therefore the total of ABAP Workbench users in all systems.

    Note Note

If you do not use the License Administration Workbench to consolidate the users, note the following when classifying users that operate in multiple clients and systems: a user must be classified only once in the highest group as a chargeable user in a production system (exception: ABAP Workbench users, see below). In all other systems, this user can then be classified as a multi-client or multi-system user.

Note that ABAP Workbench users in particular are created in multiple systems.

    End of the note.
  • The measurement program counts defined users and Engines and identifies users with developer authorization (SSCR Key) in the result.

  • Unclassified users are counted in production clients with the standard user type of the respective price list (either as operational users or as mySAP.com Cat II/Professional users), in non-productive clients as test users.

  • Certain users (such as DDIC) are automatically excluded from the measurement (see SAP Note 553606).

  • Locked users are counted by the measurement program.

  • As of SAP R/3 4.0B, the measurement program no longer counts users whose validity date has passed.

In the case of earlier releases, the measurement program counts users whose validity date has passed for another 90 days after the expiry date.

  • For SAP releases lower than SAP Web Application Server 6.10:

When a user is copied, the user type and special version are not copied. The user is initialized as an operational user or a mySAP.com Cat. II/Professional user, and you must then maintain it manually.
