Deploying Open Device Management Integration Framework with SMS 

Use

To deploy the Integration Framework, use the native deployment functionality offered by the Device Management System.

Prerequisites

·        You have installed the mobile client on the device.

·        You have ensured that the mobile client is running on the device.

Procedure

       1.      Create a deployment package containing the Integration Framework components by using the SMS Administration Console.

The process of creating a deployment package for the Integration Framework is the same as creating any package in SMS.

       2.      Create an installation program for the package with an entry point of IFSetup.exe.

Or

Create an uninstallation program for the package with an entry point of IFSetup.exe with the /U argument.

       3.      Publish the Integration Framework package install or uninstall programs.

Result

After successful deployment and installation of the package, the integration framework is installed. Upon successful installation, the Smart Package Installer (SPI) component is copied to the Microsoft Windows system directory.
