Background documentation Agents for Monitoring and Controlling the Mobile Devices  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

In Data Orchestration Engine (DOE) and SAP NetWeaver Mobile Infrastructure Client (MI Client), agents enable you to manage multiple devices and/or mobile components on the devices by setting or retrieving properties of devices and/or mobile components on the devices from the DOE.

You can use the following agents:

      PIOS Configuration Agent (PIOSCONFIG)

The PIOS Configuration Agent enables you to assign values to configuration parameters of PIOS device drivers in client devices.

      Registry Agent (REGISTRY)

The Registry Agent allows you to read and write data in the registry of client devices.

      Script Agent (SCRIPT)

You can use the Script Agent to run scripts on the client device once, at startup, at synchronization time, or at specified time intervals recurrently.

      Time Agent (TIME)

Using the Time Agent you can synchronize the date and time on devices with the date and time on the server.

      Battery Agent (BATTERY)

With the Battery Agent you can monitor the battery capacity of the mobile device. If configured, the battery capacity is temporarily logged on the mobile device and then transferred to the DOE during synchronization.

      Storage Agent (STORAGE)

You use the Storage Agent to retrieve the memory and storage space information from a mobile device. During synchronization, the current memory status is transferred to the DOE.

      Backlight Agent (BACKLIGHT)

You use the Backlight Agent to control, from the Data Orchestration Engine Administration (DOEA), the backlight settings of the mobile devices.

      PIOS Configuration W32 Agent (PIOSCONFIGW32)

The PIOS Configuration W32 Agent enables you to assign values to configuration parameters of PIOS device drivers in client laptops.
