Process documentation Defining Data Model and Data Distribution Logic  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

In this process, the developers define the application model on the Data Orchestration Workbench. The model consists of a software component version, data object definitions, and a distribution model.

Use of the Process

This IT process is part of the following IT scenario:

IT Scenario

Scenario Variant

Mobilizing Business Processes

Developing Mobile Applications for Occasional Connection

Prerequisites

You have completed the process Defining Back-End Interface.

Process Flow

The following IT process runs in the usage type Mobile.

The functional unit for this process is Data Orchestration Workbench.

...

       1.      Create software component versions.

In this step developers create software component versions for storing design time objects in the Data Orchestration Engine (DOE) repository.

       2.      Model data objects.

These data objects comprise of flow definitions for processing data objects; distribution models to ensure data distribution to various receivers; and back-end adapter to exchange data with the back end systems.

       3.      Define back-end adapters.

       4.      Adapt receiver model.

In this step the developers identify a set of attributes based on which receivers or devices are created in DOE.

       5.      Model distribution logic.

Distribution models determine how data object instances and their data are distributed to client devices.

       6.      Activate runtime.

In this step, you activate the distribution rules.

Result

You have defined the data model and how the data is to be distributed. You now need to perform the process Developing Mobile Components.
