Enabling Runtime and
Synchronization
The user can follow this IT process to perform his or her daily tasks on the client device and to exchange data with the back end by means of synchronization.
On synchronization, client devices and the back end have the most up-to-date data. Synchronization also ensures a safe and compressed transfer of data. Monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities allow you to identify and solve any problems which may occur during synchronization.
This IT process is part of the following IT scenario:

You have completed
the IT processes
Implementing Mobile

Executing Device
Rollout.
The following IT process runs in the usage type Mobile.
The functional units of this process are SAP NetWeaver Mobile Client, Data Orchestration Engine (DOE) and SAP NetWeaver Mobile Administrator.
...
1. Mobile user changes data in offline mode.
2. Mobile user or system initiates synchronization.
Data and applications are synchronized either automatically by the client device or manually by the client device users.
The client device user triggers synchronization with the DOE to retrieve the latest data and to send any changes they have made on the client device. If a background synchronization process has been configured, the device triggers the synchronization process automatically.
3. System updates data on back-end system and affected device queues.
The data that arrives from the client device is put into a message queue. Data is updated in the following:
○ Back-end database
○ Consolidated data store (CDS)
○ Receiver queues.
4. Monitor message flow and state of devices.
With the SAP NetWeaver Mobile Administrator, you monitor and manage client devices and data. The DOE sends alerts to the administrators if errors occur.
Users have completed their tasks on the client device and exchanged data with the back-end.
