Creating OTR Alias Texts
You have integrated the terms you want to create as alias texts into your BSP layout in accordance with the OTR Directives .
You can create OTR alias texts using the following methods:
● By double-clicking on the OTR alias in the page editor
● By choosing the menu option Goto → OTR from the BSP application
● By calling transaction SOTR_EDIT
...
1. In your BSP application, double-click an OTR alias text that has not yet been created.
2. Confirm the prompt asking you if you want to create the text.
The following screen appears:

If you have not yet specified a packet name for the OTR alias in your BSP, the system automatically adds this to the prefix in the page itself and in the OTR.
3. Enter the required text up to a maximum length of 255 characters.
4. Enter the length of the text in the Maximum Length field.

To facilitate translation into other languages – which often require more space than in English - you are advised to set the maximum length somewhat longer than the actual text. If you do not enter a value in this field, the system stores the OTR alias in its current length.
5. Save your text by choosing Save.
If you want to use an existing text from the Basis vocabulary, choose Search . This opens the Online Text Repository Browser, where you can search for and select a suitable text for your BSP.
6. After you have pressed the Release button, the system checks the OTR text for abbreviations or anything else that could make translation difficult. If it finds any, a popup appears where you can enter explanations or comments.
Enter a
comment and choose
.
...
1. In your BSP, choose Goto → Online Text Repository Browser.
On the
following screen, all the texts in the package you are currently editing are
displayed.
Package SOTR_VOCABULARY_BASICcontains standard texts for generic use. You
can use these texts across all applications. However, all other texts must be
assigned to one package only.
2.
Select one of the
existing texts and choose
to
change it, or
to create a new text in your package.
3. Continue as described in the section above.
...
1. Call transaction SOTR_EDIT.
This takes you to the OTR initial screen. The default language is your logon language.
2. If necessary, change the language that you want to create the text in.
3. Enter the name of the alias in the Alias field.
4. Choose Create.
5. On the next screen, enter the package name, the alias name, the object type (for BSP applications, this is always WAPP) and the alias text. Then choose Save.
Once the text is saved, the Concept field will contain a unique GUID which your text will be stored under in the OTR.
An OTR text not assigned to a local or private package is included in a transportable change request when the text is created. This ensures that new or changed texts are transported into follow-on systems. The connection to the Change & Transport System is thus guaranteed.
