Chart Engine 

Purpose

The Chart Engine is a C++ library used to generate business graphics.

Integration

It can be used in two scenarios:

The IGS scenario

It is used as an interpreter in the Internet Graphics Service.

The ActiveX control scenario

It is also available as an ActiveX control.

The Chart Engine is available on all NetWeawer AS platforms.

 

You only need a browser to use the Chart Engine – you do not need a GUI. But please note:

 The ActiveX control based Chart Engine is also part of SAP GUI for Windows and will be delivered and installed with it automatically.

To use the Chart Engine within the SAP GUI two special ABAP classes are offered:

●        CL_IGS_CHART_ENGINE calls the Chart Engine based within the IGS

●        CL_GUI_CHART_ENGINE calls the ActiveX control based Chart Engine within the SAPGUI if available. If this ActiveX control is not available, the IGS based Chart Engine will be called automatically.
