Procedure documentation Adding a Bulk Rule to a Distribution Model  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You use this procedure to distribute all instances of a data object to all mobile devices matching a specific receiver category (device binding option ALL) or matching specific criteria for individual devices (device binding option Device Binding). You add a bulk rule either to the distribution model or to a distribution dependency.

Prerequisites

·        A standard data object and a receiver generation data object exist.

·        You have created a distribution model.

·        You have created a distribution dependency, if you want to create a dependency bulk rule.

Procedure

...

       1.      Log on to the NetWeaver AS and start the transaction SDOE_WB.

       2.      Select the project in which you want to work.

Note

To display all projects, type an asterisk (*) in the instance list field and press Enter.

       3.      Locate the distribution model or the distribution dependency for which you want to create a bulk rule, click with the secondary mouse button and choose Add  Bulk Rule.

The Distribution Rule Wizard starts.

       4.      Choose Continue.

       5.      In the Rule Details area, enter a name and description for the rule.

The data object for which you create the rule appears in the Data Object Name field.

       6.      Choose Continue.

       7.      In the Device Binding area, select the device binding option you want to use.

       8.      Use the following table to continue, based on the option you selected.

Choose Continue.

The system does not distribute the data object to any of the devices automatically. The devices to which the data is to be distributed must be defined in the SAP NetWeaver Mobile Administrator.

Select a receiver category type (RMM) and choose Continue.

Note

Currently only MOBILE is supported.

If appropriate, add a custom job and then choose Continue.

The data object is distributed to all the devices for a specific receiver category type (RMM).

Device Binding

                            a.      Choose SubGen Data Object or Search Criteria and follow the corresponding wizard steps.

If you choose SubGen Data Object, use these steps.

                                                  i.       Enter a device binding name of your choice.

                                                ii.       Choose a SubGen data object.

                                               iii.       Choose a receiver category type (RMM).

                                               iv.       Choose a receiver attribute, operator and the corresponding attribute value(s).

If you choose Search Criteria, use these steps.

                                                  i.       Enter a device binding name of your choice.

                                                 v.       Choose a receiver category type (RMM) and click Fetch Attributes.

                                               vi.       The RMM attributes are displayed.

                                              vii.       Choose the RMM attribute(s) you want to use as criteria and click >.

                                            viii.       Choose the operator, enter the corresponding attribute value(s), and choose Save.

                            b.      Choose Continue.

                            c.      If required, add a custom job and then choose Continue.

 

       9.      Choose Continue.

   10.      If appropriate, schedule an additional rule evaluation job. To do this, choose Add Custom Job.

The Distribution Rule screen appears.

                            a.      Enter an event name of your choice. In the Schedule section in the Start field, enter a date and time for rule evaluation to start. In the No Start after field, enter a date and time after which the job is no longer to be executed.

                            b.      In the Periodic Job section, select an option for the recurring execution of rule evaluation, for example, weekly or monthly.

Note

You can also choose Other Options and define that you want rule evaluation to be executed, for example, every three weeks from the start date you have defined under Schedule.

                            c.      Choose Save.

   11.       Choose Continue.

   12.      Verify the rule, choose Continue and complete the rule creation.

   13.      Activate the rule.
