Procedure documentation Applying Patches on the Mobile Client  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

In the Data Orchestration Engine (DOE), the patches are stored as mobile components with the following naming convention:

Patch Type

Mobile Component Name

Full patch for the mobile client for laptops

FULL_PATCH

Full patch for the mobile client for handhelds

MOBILE_FULL_PATCH_PPC and the patch for the respective container as listed below:

AWT container – Mobile_Full_Patch_AWT_ppc

JSP container – Mobile_Full_Patch_JSP_ppc

OCA container – OCA_RT_FULLPATCH

Delta patch for the mobile client for laptops

DELTA_PATCH_WIN32

Delta patch for the mobile client for handhelds

MOBILE_DELTA_PATCH_PPC and patch for the respective container as listed below:

AWT container – Mobile_Delta_Patch_AWT_ppc

JSP container – Mobile_Delta_Patch_JSP_ppc

OCA container – Mobile_Delta_Patch_eSWT_ppc

After you assign the patches to the client devices, the patches are available in the outbound queues of the devices. On the next synchronization of the client with the DOE, the patch is downloaded to the client device. The client installer applies the patches on the client, and then automatically restarts the client.

Prerequisites

You have administrator rights on the SAP NetWeaver Application Server.

Procedure

       1.      In the SAP NetWeaver Mobile Administrator, assign the relevant patch to all the required devices.
