Defining a Variant to Delete Archived Data 

Use

A variant allows you to define conditions based on which you can delete the archived data from the log and trace tables or message store tables. When you want to define a variant to delete the archived data, you must specify whether you want to delete data in the:

·        Test mode

●      Production mode

Procedure

       1.      Log on to the SAP NetWeaver AS and start transaction:

¡        SDOE_DELETELOG – to define a variant to delete archived data from the log and trace tables

○       SDOE_DELETEMSG – to define a variant to delete archived data from the message store tables

       2.      From the Processing Options, select the required mode.

       3.      Choose Save.

       4.      In the Variant Name field, enter a name for the variant.

       5.      In the Meaning field, enter a description for the variant.

       6.      To define the behavior of the variant, select the required options.

       7.      Choose Save.
