Deploying Mobile
Components Using Third-Party DM Systems
This procedure provides you with the steps required for deploying mobile components to install or uninstall a mobile application on a device.

The deployment process varies among device management systems. This procedure depicts the general steps of the deployment process.
· You have installed the mobile client on the device.
· You have ensured that the mobile client is running on the device.
· You have installed the Open Device Management Integration Framework on the device.

1. Create a deployment package containing the SAP mobile component files to be deployed.
2. Set the entry point of the deployment package to SPI.EXE.
When the package is deployed successfully to a mobile device, the device management system starts the Smart Package Installer (SPI) application. The SPI application triggers the installation or the uninstallation of the mobile component on the device.

3. Initiate package deployment by assigning deployment package to target devices.
You have deployed the mobile component package. The mobile application is installed or uninstalled on the device.
