Procedure documentation Comparing DOE and Back-End Field Mapping  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

After you create a back-end adapter and define the field mapping for it, you can run a check to ensure that the field name, data type, and length of the field in both systems match.

Prerequisites

You have created and activated a back-end adapter.

Procedure

...

       1.      Log on to the NetWeaver AS and start transaction SDOE_WB.

       2.      Locate and open the back-end adapter for which you want to perform the check.

       3.      Choose Utilities Check field mapping.

The Comparison of Backend and DOE Field attributes screen appears.

       4.      If you want to view the information contained in the tables, click the first column in the table with the secondary mouse button and choose Unfreeze columns. You can use the arrow keys to navigate through the columns in each table.

Note

To compare the values of the mapped fields in the DOE with the fields in the back-end tables:

                            a.      Locate the matching field names the Backend Structure column (Data object attributes table) and the Table name column (back-end attributes table).

                            b.      Compare the values in the last three columns.

Result

If there is a mismatch between the DOE and the back-end field attributes, for example, the data type or field length differ, then that line appears in red text. To correct this, make the appropriate changes in the data object node attributes.
