Procedure documentation Deploying the Open Device Management Integration Framework  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

The Integration Framework enables integration with a third-party device management system. Since an SAP mobile component cannot install itself, the Integration Framework acts as an intermediary between the device management system and the mobile client. The Integration Framework must be installed on a client device before mobile components can be deployed. The following components are part of the Integration Framework:

·        IFSetup – This is the entry point for the installation of the Integration Framework. It is responsible for the installation of the Integration Framework on a client device. This is used only when you install the Integration Framework.

Smart Package Installer (SPI) – This is the entry point for installing or uninstalling mobile components. SPI initiates the process of installing or uninstalling mobile components after a third-party device management system deploys a mobile component to a client device. The Administrator must start it every time an SAP mobile component is deployed using a third-party device management system.

You deploy the Integration Framework using a third-party device management system.

Note

The deployment process varies among device management systems. This procedure depicts the general steps of the deployment process.
