Integrating GWM Visual Studio Add-In into SAP Solution Manager.

Prerequisites

Downloaded and installed the SAP Client Plugin tool.

Context

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the folder where SAP Client Plugin is copied and double click on plugin-starter-gui.exe.Supportability
    The End to End Trace Analysis -Client Plug-in application opens.
  2. Select Microsoft Office Outlook from the Application drop-down list.
  3. Click Launch.
    The Microsoft Outlook application opens with the client plugin tool.
  4. Enter the name for your business transaction XML and click Start Transaction.
  5. Start the normal Outlook operations, for example getting list of Time Records.Supportabilit_StartTransaction
  6. Navigate to the Outlook ribbon, and start the Query operation.Support_Query
    As soon as Query operation is invoked, the SAP client plugin tool will recognize the request. Once the OData service call is finished, a response will be recognized by the SAP client tool.

Requests_Support

After getting the Query response, the SAP client plugin will recognize the response.

Requests_Response

  1. Click on Stop Transaction.
    A dialog pop up asking you to manually upload business transaction xml appears.
  2. Click OK, and then click on EXIT button in the SAP client tool.

Manually Uploading the XML for Your Solution

Context

You need to find the specific folder that was created in the SAP Client plugin tool using the name you specified for your add-in template (Business Scenario). In the folder, there is an XML file using the same name as the add-in template. You must manually upload the specific XML file.

To locate the log folder:

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the folder, where the SAP Client plugin was copied from.
  2. Open the Log folder.
    The log folder will have another folder which contains the name of Business Scenario that was specified while creating the template. See Creating GWM Outlook Add-In Template.
  3. Double click on the folder, and locate the BusinessTransaction xml
  4. Open the BusinessTransaction xml in Internet Explorer, and search for Request ID for this particular Web service call.Request ID NEW
  5. Logon to Solution Manager system, and navigate to Start of the navigation path "Root Cause Analysis" End of the navigation path tab, and then choose Start of the navigation path End to End Analysis End of the navigation path.
  6. Click on Root Cause Analysis.
  7. Click on the Trace Analysis tab, under the All systems tab.
  8. Under Trace Analysis expand the manual upload section, and upload the Business transaction xml.Suppr_Upload
  9. Click on Trace Analysis again to display the list.
  10. Click on your Business Transaction xml from the list.
    The screen at the bottom shows various steps that were carried out (typically each request).

Transaction_Steps

  1. Monitor the HTTP tabs, and get detailed information on trace analysis.
  2. Click on Display button to view the detailed summary of the transaction.
