GWM Missing in the New Project Window of Visual StudioLocate this document in the navigation structure

Context

Symptom:

When GWM Visual Studio Add-In is installed on a machine by one of the users of that machine, other users cannot access GWM in the New Project window under the Visual C# node, as it does not exist.

Solution:

Procedure

  1. Close all instances of Visual Studio.
  2. Go to the Start menu, choose Run, type cmd, and click OK.
  3. At the command line (Start of the navigation path Start  Next navigation step  Run End of the navigation path, enter CMD with the option Run as administrator), go to the directory that contains devenv.exe, and execute the command, devenv /installvstemplates.
    Alternatively, right click the program in Start of the navigation path Start menu  Next navigation step  All Programs  Next navigation step  Microsoft Visual Studio 2012  Next navigation step Visual Studio Tools Next navigation step VS2012 x64 Cross Tools Command Prompt End of the navigation path and choose Run as administrator, from the Cross Tools Command Prompt, execute the command, devenv /installvstemplates.
    Note You can perform the procedure in the different versions of Visual Studio such as, 2010, 2012, or 2013.

    Open Visual Studio and check if the issue is resolved.

    In some cases, GWM is still not listed.

    If this happens, do the following in addition to the above steps:

    Go to the Start menu, choose Start of the navigation path Control Panel  Next navigation step  Programs  Next navigation step  Uninstall programs  Next navigation step  GWM Visual Studio Add-In End of the navigation path and choose Repair.
