Search object connectors are used to connect search providers to SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search to make objects of a specific type that are stored on them available for searching. You can create search object connectors in the modeler using predefined search object connector models.

Search object connectors have the same structure as search object connector models and are instances of the models. The models do not yet contain the connectivity data for connection to the back-end systems or services.

Depending on the type of search provider involved, the connectivity data can be an RFC destination, URL, or repository address, for example.

You have to provide the connectivity data when you create a search object connector from a model in the administration cockpit.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
