Procedure documentationStarting and Stopping Applications Locate this document in the navigation structure

 

This procedure enables you to start or stop a certain application at runtime.

Prerequisites

You have chosen   SAP NetWeaver Administrator   Operation Management   Systems   Application Manager  .

Procedure

Starting Applications
  1. From the Show dropdown box, choose a functionality, depending on the type of applications you want to monitor.

  2. Select the non-running application you want to start.

  3. Choose Start from the Installed Functionality screen area.

  4. The Start <application> Functionality wizard appears, providing the following options:

    • Using Default Behavior – starts all dependencies except for the ”lazy started” ones.

    • Setting “Started” as Default State – starts all dependencies with “default started” status. The “lazy started” applications are not included.

    • Including Lazy Java EE Applications – starts all dependencies, including the “lazy started” applications.

    • Including Lazy Java EE Applications and Setting “Started” as Default State – starts all dependencies – with both “default started” and “lazy started” status.

  5. Choose Next to view the list of all dependencies that will be started together with the application.

  6. Choose Finish.

Stopping Applications
  1. From the Show dropdown box, choose a functionality, depending on the type of applications you want to monitor.

  2. Select the running application you want to stop.

  3. Choose Stop from the Installed Functionality screen area.

  4. The Stop <application> Functionality wizard appears, providing the following options:

    • Using Default Behavior – stops all dependencies together with the “lazy stopped” applications.

    • Setting “Stopped” as Default State – stops all dependencies as they accept “default stopped” status. That is, the next time the AS Java is started, these applications will be stopped.

    • Only Stop Lazy Java EE Applications Associated with Functionality – stops only the “lazy stopped” applications.

  5. Choose Next to view the list of all dependencies that will be stopped together with the application.

  6. Choose Finish.
