You can use the ABAP KeyPerformance Indicators monitor to obtain the most important values about the performance of the instances of your ABAP system or monitored ABAP systems and to identify possible causes for performance problems. You can see areas that you particularly need to monitor in your daily administration at a glance in the subtrees of this monitor.

Execution

Check the ABAP KeyPerformance Indicators monitor for alerts. To open the monitor, proceed as described in Tasks. Depending on the affected nodes, you can react to the alert as follows:

Affected MTE

Meaning

Dialog Service

This subtree contains the most important performance values of the ABAP dialog service. The Workload Monitor (transaction ST03) is set as the analysis method.

<SysID>\<Instance> FrontendResponseTime ResponseTimeUsersLoggedIn

These nodes (dialog response time, front end dialog response time, and the number of users logged on) summarize the current situation of the dialog service.

For possible procedures if alerts occur, see:

Operating System

This subtree contains the most important performance values at operating system level, which are collected by the operating system collector SAPOSCOL. The Operating System Monitor (transaction OS06) is set as the analysis method.

<SysID>\<Instance>\... CPU_Utilization Page_In Page_Out

These nodes (CPU utilization and paging rates) summarize the current utilization of the operating system resources.

For possible procedures if alerts occur, see Operating System Monitor.

Memory Management

This subtree contains the most important performance values of the SAP memory management system. The Tune Summary (transaction ST02) is set as the analysis method.

<SysID>\<Instance> R3RollUsed EsAct HeapAct Swap

These nodes show the following values:
