You can use the monitoring architecture of the Computing Center Management System (CCMS) to monitor a system landscape. The concept of the monitoring architecture is to provide all required information in a central monitoring system; this system is referred to in this documentation (irrespective of the actual system ID) as CEN.
Problems are displayed in the alert monitor of CEN as soon as they occur; all log files are also accessible from a central location, which reduces the time for error identification and correction. Additional configuration steps allow advanced technologies such as automatic notifications, meaning that administrators no longer need to actively investigate systems for alerts.
Note
To monitor your system landscape, use the current Support Package and Enhancement Package of SAP NetWeaver 7.0 for the central monitoring system.
We recommend that you use the system of your SAP Solution Manager as the central monitoring system.
