Procedure

  1. Configure the LDAP connector as described in Configuring the LDAP Connector (SAP NetWeaver documentation).

    Note Note

    Enter 1 in the fields Max Retention Period and Code Page.

  2. Test the connection in transaction SM59 by choosing Connection Test.

  3. Define the system user for the directory service with read permission only as described in Defining the System User of the Directory Service (SAP NetWeaver documentation).

  4. Configure the connection data for the directory service as described in Configuring Connection Data for the Directory Service (SAP NetWeaver documentation).

    Select User in the LDAP Application field.

Note Note

The user used for the LDAP connection must have suitable roles to log on to and query the LDAP directory. Check this with the following steps:

  1. Run transaction LDAP.

  2. Select the server you have configured.

  3. Select the connector you have created.

  4. Log on by choosing Log On in the Operations area using the system user you have defined.

The status indicator must be green.
