The connection wizard returns the following error message when you try to connect a search provider:

A ping to the application host was not successfully executed! Name or password is incorrect. Please re-enter. No connection to the back-end system. Check the specified system information!.

Procedure

Check that you have entered the user name and password correctly. In the case of an SAP R/3 back-end system, you must enter the password in uppercase letters.
