Texts In a Certain Language Are not Extracted From the R/3 Source System
To be able to extract data from SAP R/3 4.6C or SAP ERP Central Component System (4.7) systems with a search object connector of type SAP BO Legacy Search, you must activate the languages that are used in the R/3 systems in SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search for the TREX search engine as well.
To check and activate the languages, proceed as described below.
Log on to the central instance of your SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search ABAP system with the Search_Admin user.
Run transaction I18N.
Navigate to I18N System Configuration under I18N Customizing.
In the left panel, choose Add and enter the key of the language you want to add to the list.
Note
You can press F4 to call help if you are not familiar with the keys of the languages. You may find it more convenient to choose Add multiple times in advance and then add multiple languages one after the other.
Add all the languages supported by Search and Classification (TREX):
AR, CA, CS, DA, DE, EN, ES, FR, HR, IT, JA, KO, NL, NO, PT, RU, SK, SL, SR, SV, ZF, ZH
You can find the most up-to-date information about the languages that TREX supports on SAP Service Marketplace in the Platform Availability Matrix (PAM).
Press Enter when you have finished.
The system displays the languages next to the key fields.
Choose Simulate.
You will receive a warning that tells you to also change the profile parameter after activation.
If no other warnings appear, go back, click Activate, and confirm the following dialog box by choosing Yes.
Copy or write down the output value (this should be 01356ACDEFIJKMNOPQRSVc) for the system parameter zcsa/installed_languages.
