Starting a Crawl 
You have created a search object connector for the file search. More information: Creating Search Object Connectors for the File Search
Launch the administration cockpit.
Filter the display by the type SAP File Search.
The system displays all the SAP File Search object connectors that have been created in SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search together with their status.
Expand the node for the search object connector for which you want to start a crawl.
The system displays the existing index for the search object connector. The name makes it clear whether or not it contains crawls including authorization data.
When you expand the index node, you can see a list of the crawls that exist for this index.
Expand the search object connector node and the index node of the search object connector for which you want to start a crawl.
Select the crawl that you want to start.
Note
A newly-created crawl has the status New. It only makes sense to start crawls with this status.
The crawl settings are displayed at the bottom of the screen. The Basic Settings contain the values that you entered when creating the search object connector.
Optional: If you want to change these settings or define additional advanced settings, such as the maximum file size of the documents to be crawled, choose the Crawl tab and then Edit. You can find a description of the parameters that you can define here at Managing Crawls.
Choose .
Once the crawl is completed, it is set to the status Prepared.
The crawled data is written to an index queue and will be available for searching once the queue is flushed.
Note
The index queue is flushed automatically after a short delay. To flush the index immediately to make the data available for searching, choose .
