Remote activation is not supported in back-end systems with a BI service API release earlier than SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s). If the back-end system has a PI_BASIS release earlier than PI_BASIS_2005_1, you must transfer the required BI Content DataSources to the active version locally in the back-end system.

You must activate all the BI Content DataSources you want to import in SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search for the BO Search object connectors.

Example Example

For the delivered BO Search object connector model R/3 4.6c Customer, you must activate the following DataSources:

Procedure

  1. Run transaction SPRO in the back-end system that you want to connect to SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search.

  2. Choose SAP Reference IMG and navigate to   Integration with Other SAP Components   Business Information Warehouse   Business Content DataSources  .

  3. Execute Transfer Application Component Hierarchy.

  4. Execute Transfer Business Content DataSources. Using the Select Subtree icon on the toolbar, select LO, MM, and SD from the SAP R/3 Application Component branch.

  5. Start the activation by choosing Trans. DataSources on the toolbar.
