Procedure documentationConfiguring the OSS Destination for the SAP Note Assistant Locate this document in the navigation structure

The OSS destination is required for importing corrections using the SAP Note Assistant.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the ABAP system (for example, as SAP*) and run transaction SM59.

  2. Select SAPOSS under ABAP Connections.

  3. Double-click SAPOSS.

  4. Change the parameters described below.

    Note Note

Contact your technical consultant for suitable values for the environment in question.

    End of the note.
    1. On the Technical Settings tab page, specify the OSS server for the ABAP connection SAPOSS, which is required for the connection to SAP Service Marketplace. This connection is usually not made directly but goes through the customer's SAProuter and the SAProuter for the master blade.

      Example Example

      /H/webdisp/H/SAPSERV3/H/OSS001

      /H/<SAProuter for the master blade>/H/<customer's SAProuter>/H/<SMP>

      End of the example.

For more information about connecting two hosts through one or more SAProuters, see Entering Route Strings.

    2. We recommend that you save the entry in the database as Host Name and not as IP Address.

    3. On the Logon & Security tab page, specify a user for this connection.

  5. Check your settings by choosing Remote Logon at the top of the view. If you configured the OSS destination correctly, nothing will happen. Otherwise, an error message is displayed.

  6. You can also run the Connection Test to get more information about the connection speed.
