Integrating SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search into the portal makes use of two services provided by the SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search system, namely:

  • search

    This service is used to show the search user interface in the portal.

  • opensearch

    This service is used for retrieving the search categories.

Both services are activated by default, however, you should check that they are active on the SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search ABAP system.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search ABAP system.

  2. Start transaction SICF.

  3. Choose Execute (F8).

  4. Navigate to the following services and ensure that they are active:

      default_host   sap   es   search  

    Ensure that the underlying service is also active.

      default_host   sap   es   opensearch   list  

  5. Activate the services if they are inactive.

  6. Optional: Test the services.
