SAP NetWeaver provides wizard-based configuration that enables you to enter all relevant connection parameters and then automatically set up the connection between SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search and the AS Java of the portal. It also activates the search features in the portal.

Procedure

Perform the following steps to run wizard-based configuration:

  1. Start the configuration wizard.

    1. Access SAP NetWeaver Administrator.

    2. Navigate to   Configuration   Scenarios   Configuration Wizard  .

    3. In the Show dropdown list choose All Configuration Tasks.

    4. Select the SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search - Portal Integration configuration task.

    5. Run the configuration task.

  2. In step 2 of the wizard, define the connection for retrieving the search categories:

    Enter the URL of the OpenSearch List service, usually: http(s)://<SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search host>:<port>/sap/es/opensearch/list

  3. In step 6 in the wizard, define the connection for displaying the search user interface:

    1. In Host Name, enter the message server of the AS ABAP of SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search.

      Use the format: host:port.

    2. In Protocol, choose the relevant protocol: HTTP or HTTPS.

After you finish entering the required parameters, the wizard continues with the automated configuration steps. Upon completion, all relevant objects are created in the portal, the connection between the portal and SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search is established, and the search features are available in the portal.

Note Note

If an error occurred, you can view the log in the final page of the wizard. You can re-execute the wizard later with the correct input parameters. You can also manually change any parameters as described in Performing Configuration Steps Manually.
