Use

Guided Procedures (GP) comes with a set of predefined SAP Enterprise Portal roles. To set up portal roles, you define the permissions for user access to a predefined GP workset.

Prerequisites

The mapping between users and GP portal roles is an administrative task. It is done using the user management engine (UME) of the Enterprise Portal (EP). To be authorized to manage roles and work with the UME, you must be assigned a role that includes the relevant actions or combination of actions. For more information, see Identity Management.

Setting Up Design Time-Specific Roles

In addition to the roles listed above that grant access to entire GP worksets, you can also define design time-specific portal roles. They enable the assigned users to access design-time functions and callable object types, for which a specific permission level (basic, advanced, or expert) is set. The design time-specific roles are configured in the Administration workset by the GP Administrator.
