Background documentationWeb Service Calls Locate this document in the navigation structure

When a Web service call fails for a technical reason, for example no authorization or the connection is blocked by a firewall, the Web service call is retried. The default number of retries is three. If the third call fails, the status of the process is set to Failed. Once the status of the process has been changed, you can recover the failed process instance from the process list in the SAP NetWeaver Administrator.

You can edit the number of retries as a property of the BPM Core service.

Recommendation Recommendation

We recommend not to change the default of three retries of a Web service call. A change could cause a high potentially useless load.

End of the recommendation.

The time interval between two retries is one second. You cannot change this to another value.
