Use

The Guided Procedures (GP) framework enables you to attach files, URLs, or user management handlers to the actions, blocks, and process templates that you create both at design time and runtime.

Note

To be able to see process-level attachments at runtime, you must add the Additional Resources and Process Information runtime views. For action- and block-level attachments, use the Process Activities or Process Information views.

Attachments in GP Design Time

Attachments that you add to a process, block, or action at design time are read-only at runtime. You can modify these attachments during the design time of the object as follows:

       1.      In the gallery, select an item and choose Open.

The item’s design time opens.

       2.      To switch to edit mode, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text (Edit).

       3.      Open the Attachments tab page.

       4.      To add an attachment, choose Add.

       5.      On the Add Attachments screen, you can attach the following objects:

¡        Files

File attachments can be downloaded at runtime.

To add a file attachment, choose File for Attachment Type. Enter a name for the attachment, and browse your local file system to select the file that you want to attach. Choose Add.

¡        URLs

URL attachments enable the execution of a URL when selected at runtime.

To add a URL attachment, choose URL for Attachment Type. Enter a name for the attachment, and the URL that you want to call when the attachment is opened. Choose Add.

¡        User management handlers

User management handlers enable you to retrieve and display user data at runtime.

To create such attachment, choose User for Attachment Type. Use form Select user to define the required user. Choose Add.

       6.      To delete an attachment, choose Remove.

       7.      Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text (Save).

Attachments in GP Runtime

Once you have initiated a process, you can:

      View design time attachments

      Add, remove and view runtime attachments

Attachments are listed in the Process Information and Additional Resources runtime views. You can also view the attachments of a specific action, as well as its parent nodes, by choosing the paper clip icon located next to Attachments on the action title bar.

To add or remove attachments, you can:

      Open the Process Information runtime view of the currently running process.

You can add/remove attachments to any of the nodes of the process.

      Open the Additional Resources runtime view of the currently running process.

You can add/remove attachments to or from the running process.

      Choose the paper clip icon next to Attachments on the title bar.

You can add/remove attachments at action level.

After choosing one of the options above, proceed as follows:

...

       1.      Choose Add Attachment.

       2.      From the Attach To dropdown menu, choose the process node you want to add attachments to.

       3.      Next, provide information for the attachment as described in step 5 of the previous procedure.

       4.      To delete an attachment, select it from the list and choose Remove Attachment.
