Enterprise Content Management (ECM) is a technology for providing and managing unstructured content (such as documents) to support business processes in your company. With SAP's new ECM Infrastructure (ECMI) you can make ECM stores from different providers available for SAP applications or services like, for example, WebDAV access from Windows Explorer.

SAP ships the ECMI with a predefined content store, which is used by Business Process Management (BPM) for task attachments. Besides this standard usage you can address the ECMI from your own applications to access the content store.

To make the ECMI available, you must configure the respective functional units.
