Using the Replace References option in the aliases editor, you can easily replace existing aliases in if-then Rules, decision tables with alternative aliases without editing the rules or decision tables.

Example Example

CallCharges/Charges/Destination Country is an alias that has been used in many If-Then rules.

You can replace CallCharges/Charges/Destination Country with CallCharges/Charges/Origin Country without making any changes to the rules.

Procedure

  1. Locate the Project Resources node (Where is the Project Resources node?) and double-click the node.

  2. In the Project Resources editor, choose the Aliases tab.

  3. In the aliases editor, choose an alias and choose the Replace References button.

  4. Select all the checkboxes if you want to replace the alias across rules and decision tables

    If you want to replace aliases only in specific if-then rules and decision tables select relevant checkboxes.

  5. In the Replace With section you can do one of the following:

    • Choose Static and in the text box enter a value.

    • Choose Dynamic and in the drop down menu choose an alias.

  6. Choose Next.

  7. Choose Finish.

You can also choose Replace References in the context menu of an alias in the rule editor or rule script editor.
