Top-Level Navigation Features
  1. Select the Top-level Navigation iView, and choose Open.

  2. Choose All to display all of the properties.

  3. Configure the following properties according to your needs:

    Property

    Description

    Values

    Hovering

The hover effect allows users to mouse over a first-level tab in top-level navigation to see the second level entries of the tab.

The hover feature must be disabled in the following cases:

    • In portals whose Accessibility flag is activated.

    • In desktops used for navigation zoom windows.

For more information about navigation zoom, see Configuring Navigation Zoom.

    • true: Enables hovering

    • false: disables hovering

    Show Overflow Menu

If there are more top-level navigation entries than fit the width of the screen, scrolling buttons appear to enable the portal user to scroll through the entries. This property allows you to add an overflow button so that portal users can view all the top-level navigation entries in a dropdown list and select the required item from the list.

    • Disabled: Hides the overflow menu

    • One Level: Only displays the overflow menu if the Number of Display Levels property is set to 1

    • Two Levels: Displays the overflow menu regardless of the value of the Number of Display Levels property

    Cache Level

To enhance portal performance, you can cache one instance of the top-level navigation iView for each role combination that exists in your portal. All users with the same role combination will see the same top-level navigation, and will have the same instance in the cache, but users with different themes/languages/browser versions will have separate top-level navigation instances.

If the portal has many roles, and many role combinations, using the top-level navigation cache may be inefficient.

    Note Note

The top-level navigation cache is not automatically refreshed. For optimal portal performance, set the Cache Validity Period property to a time span that correlates effectively with the relative stability of the Top-Level Navigation iView.

    End of the note.

Set the property value to Roles to cache the Top-Level Navigation iView.

Detailed Navigation Features
  1. In the Page editor, select Desktop Innerpage, and choose Open.

  2. Select the Detailed Navigation iView, and choose Open.

  3. Choose All to display all of the properties.

  4. Configure the following properties according to your needs:

    Property

    Description

Enable Context Menu for Detailed Navigation Items

Determines whether a context menu is displayed when a portal user right-clicks an entry in the Detailed Navigation iView. The items in the context menu are not provided; they must be coded by the content developer.

Enable Text Wrapping in Detailed Navigation

Determines whether text that is longer than the display width of the Detailed Navigation iView is wrapped to the next line. Deselecting the checkbox of this property activates a horizontal scroll bar, allowing the portal user to view the entire text.

Browser Title

By default, the text SAP NetWeaver Portal appears in the title of the browser in which the portal is displayed. You can edit this text so that different portal desktops use different browser titles.

  1. Open the Properties editor for the Classic Framework Page.

  2. In the Desktop Title property, specify the text that you want to appear in the browser title.
