In the Rules Navigator view, select the project node and expand the ruleset or flow ruleset node.

Choose Definitions.

The definition opens in the Editor Window.

Choose  Add... Fixed Definition or choose  Add... Variable Definition ..

In the Add Definition dialog box that appears, enter the name of the definition.

Choose the relevant return type.

Choose Ok.

The definition appears under the Fixed Definitions or Variable Definitions section.
