You use this procedure to edit or rename the graphical elements through an emergent cell editor. In the Web Dynpro Explorer, you can edit the following objects inline:

  • Applications

  • Components

  • Component interfaces

  • Interface views

  • Custom controllers

  • Views

  • Windows

You can also inline edit the context node and context attribute of a view, window, component and interface view, or a Web Dynpro object (including component modelers, data modelers, and navigation modelers).

Prerequisites

You have created the Web Dynpro objects. For more information, see Creating a Web Dynpro DC

Procedure

Edit a Web Dynpro Object Inline in a Modeler
  1. In the Web Dynpro perspective, select the object that you want to rename.

    Note Note

    You can select Web Dynpro objects either in the Component Modeler, Data Modeler, Execution Modeler, or Navigation Modeler.

  2. Click on the selected object.

    The cell editor appears on the object.

  3. Type in a new name and choose Enter.

Note Note

The cell editor can also be launched by using the shortcut key (F2), provided the system runs on a Windows operating system.

Edit a Web Dynpro Object Inline in the Explorer
  1. In the Web Dynpro Explorer, select the object that you want to rename and press F2 key.

    The cell editor appears on the object.

  2. Enter a new name.
