Use

You have to use the Application Server ABAP (AS ABAP) Transport Management System (TMS) for organizing the NWDI systems in a landscape. You have to create all the systems that you need in your landscape using TMS. Inside it you can also define the transport routes between the systems.

Note that for new systems you have to create all the required systems and define the transport routes between these systems only in TMS. However, if you use an existing landscape set up using Change Management Service (CMS) of the SAP NetWeaver Development Infrastructure (NWDI), you can still use CMS as normal.

Prerequisites

      CTS is configured

DTR, CBS, and SLD are configured.

Procedure

...

       1.      Log on to the Transport Management System (TMS) of AS ABAP. Define the new systems in the landscape (Non-ABAP System). For more information, see Transports in Heterogeneous SAP System Landscape and Scenarios and Recommendations on Using CTS and NWDI.

       2.      Configure the details for each system.

A development configuration will be created for each system. Later on the developers can connect to the System Landscape Directory (SLD) and import this development configuration to their SAP NetWeaver Developer Studios. Create a system of type DI in TMS. For more information about creating the system, see http://help.sap.com/NW70 -> SAP NetWeaver 7.0 including Enhancement Package 1 -> <language> -> SAP NetWeaver Library -> SAP NetWeaver by Key Capability -> Solution Life Cycle Management by Key Capability -> Software Life-Cycle Management -> Software Logistics -> Change and Transport System -> Change and Transport System - Overview (BC-CTS) -> Transporting Non-ABAP Objects in Change and Transport System -> Performing Configuration Steps for Non-ABAP Transports -> Defining and Configuring Non-ABAP Systems.

The details of the development configuration can be set using the Development Configuration Web UI. For example, there you specify Component Build Service (CBS) and Design Time Repository (DTR) location in the Web UI. You can manage or modify this configuration also later on. For more information, see Managing Development Configurations in the Landscape.

       3.      Define the transport routes of the systems.

For more information about how performing each of the steps, see Integrating NWDI Transports with the Change and Transport System.
