Maintaining Aliases of WSRP Producers
Content usage mode: WSRP application sharing Applies to: consumers
The functionality described in this topic is not available in an SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment system. End of the note. |
Every producer object has a single, unique alias. The producer alias is used in various user interfaces in the portal to identify the producer portal; for example the Registration Editor and the Identity Management tool.
When you consume content from a producer portal, the corresponding content objects generated on the consumer portal contain a reference to the source producer; this reference is the producer alias. For example, in proxy-to-portlet iViews the alias is written to the iView's producerID property.
The portal automatically generates an alias for the producer from its producer ID when you add a producer using the Producer Wizard (see Creating WSRP Connections to Producers). If the alias is already used by another system in your portal, an underscore is added to the suffix of the initial alias until a unique one has been formed.
Note
The system administrator cannot edit, add to, or remove producer aliases. Once the portal assigns an alias to a producer object it is fixed.
This topic describes how to view the alias assigned to a producer.
Access to the federated portal administration tools in the standard System Admin role on your portal.
Added the producer to your portal (see Creating WSRP Connections to Producers).
You have been assigned at least administrator read permission to the producer object.
Note
The producer may inherit the permission assigned to its parent folder in the Portal Catalog. For example, NetWeaver Content Producers or WSRP Content Producers.
To view a producer's alias, do any of the following:
If you are currently editing the producer object in the Producer Editor or another secondary editor, choose Producer Aliases in the object editor toolbar.
If you are not editing producer object, then do the following:
In the consumer portal, navigate to .
In the Portal Catalog, navigate to the producer object.
Right-click the producer object and choose in the context menu.
