Setting Up SSL for Remote Delta Link Usage
Content usage mode: remote delta link Applies to: producers, consumers |
The remote delta link usage mode supports the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol. If you want to implement a secure connection, you need to configure the SSL exchange on both the producer server and consumer server in the federated portal network. For more information, see Configuring the Use of SSL on the AS Java.
If the connections in your system landscape pass through an SAP Web dispatcher (for example, an RMI-P4 connection to the producer portal), then you can also use SSL to secure these connections. For more information, see SAP Web Dispatcher and SSL.
Note
The SSL setup for remote delta link usage mode applies to the encryption of transferred data only; SSL-based authorizations are not supported.
The federated portal network infrastructure relies on logon tickets to establish trust between the producer and consumer portal at runtime and design-time. Therefore, you are still required to exchange portal certificate files (see Setting Up Trust Using the SSO Wizard and Setting Up Trust Using the FPN Trust Editor). The SSL configuration is an additional requirement that does not avoid the need to configure trust.
