The prerequisites for implementing a federated portal network are as follows:

  • SAP NetWeaver consumer and producer portals are running either SAP NetWeaver 7.0 or SAP NetWeaver 7.2.

  • Any non-SAP consumer portals you may be working with must be WSRP-compliant.

  • For each SAP NetWeaver Portal, you have installed usage type EP Core (EPC) and completed the initial configuration steps described in Configuring the Portal for Initial Use. Each portal must be fully operational.

  • The user bases of all portals in the network adhere to the requirements described in User Persistence.

    The configuration of your user management system begins already during the installation of SAP NetWeaver Application Server.
