Content usage mode: remote delta link

The remote delta link usage mode allows a content administrator on an SAP NetWeaver consumer portal to browse from remote the Portal Catalog of an SAP NetWeaver producer portal, and to then copy remote roles, worksets, pages, and iViews as delta link content. After the remote delta link objects have been created locally as remote delta links on the consumer portal, a content administrator can then manage this content as any other local object.

Process

In the Portal Content Studio, the content administrator on the consumer portal does the following:

  1. Browses the Portal Catalog of the remote SAP NetWeaver portal and copies the relevant content as remote delta link objects to the local Portal Catalog.

  2. Configures and tests the remote delta link content, embeds it in local content (pages, worksets, and roles), and then assigns it to local users on the consumer.
