While modeling portal content, you can focus on individual elements in a model, without opening a new tab, and perform editing and configuration actions. The following actions are allowed:

  • Rename

  • Delete

  • Configure

Prerequisites

A model is open in the Storyboard.

Procedure

Select any element in model to bring it in focus. A border surrounding the selected object becomes visible.

You can perform actions on the element as follows:

  • To edit the name of the element, right-click the element and choose Rename from its context menu or press the F2 key.

  • To delete an element, select it and press the Delete key.

  • To configure an element, right-click it and choose Configure. The Configure task panel switches its content to that of the element in focus and allows the editing of its properities. You can also bring folders in the navigation area into focus and configure them.

    • The content of the Configure task panel does not change when you select a different element. To show the content for another element in focus, choose Configure from its context menu.

    • To return to the Configure task panel of the root object, right-click a general area in the model, without selecting a specific element, and choose Configure from the context menu.

Configuring Web Dynpro Applications

The modeling elements that wrap Web Dynpro applications are:

  • Composite views

  • Reused Web Dynpro applications, of which there are two types:

    • Applications dragged directly to the portal modeling evironment from the GPAL repository in the portal

    • Web Dynpro pages, which wrap a Web Dynpro applications and were dragged to the portal modeling evironment from portal content

From the context menus of these elements, you can choose the option Configure WD Application. A dialog box appears in which you can edit configurable attributes of the application.

Note Note

The configuration of models, which wrap applications, take effect in the portal after deployment. Changes to configuration affect the delta link to the application, not the actual Web Dynpro application itself.

End of the note.
