Portal content modeling in Visual Composer enables the creation of business objects. Once a business object is created, and displayed in the Layout board, an operation icon is available in the Compose panel. You can associate multiple operations to a business object.

Procedure

  1. In Visual Composer, open the Create New Model dialog box and choose the Business Object model type.

  2. Enter a name for the business object and choose a development component, or create a new one.

  3. Click OK. A model of the business object appears in the Layout board.

  4. Add an operation to the business object by dragging the operation icon from the Compose panel on to the business object container.

  5. In the Create New Operation dialog box that opens, enter a name for the operation and click OK. The operation name appears in the business object model.

Repeat this step as often as necessary for the specific model.

    Note Note

The names of operations in the same business object must be unique. Giving an operation the same name as that of a previously created operation returns an error.

    End of the note.

Right-clicking on an operation opens a context menu that gives you the option to remove the operation.

  6. Save when you finish modeling the business object.

More Information

The business objects created with portal content modeling are system business objects. The system alias SAP_POM is automatically generated for all modeled business objects.

The system alias appears in the Configure task panel. This field is editable. Since the runtime search for targets looks for the matching business object, operation, and system alias, you may want to change the system alias to add a level of uniqueness to the OBN target search in runtime.
