Editing Track-Specific Authorizations
Note
This section is only valid if CMS was in use before.
In the User Management Engine (UME), you can define user rights in Change Management Service (CMS) by combining UME actions. CMS also gives you the option of restricting these rights for specific tracks.
In this way, you can grant or remove authorizations for working in individual tracks.
To be able to edit the track-specific authorizations, you need to meet the following conditions:
You are in the Web application for editing the track-specific authorizations.
You have already created one or more tracks.
You have a user with the UME action CMS.UserAdmin, which is authorized for editing track-specific authorizations.
Choose New Entry to assign the authorizations of a new user or group to the selected track. A row becomes ready for input in the table.
In the Type field, specify whether you want to assign a user or a group to the track.
Enter the name of the user or group in the Name field.
Select the checkboxes of the authorizations that you want to give to this track.
Repeat these steps for all other groups or users to which you want to give authorizations for this track.
Save your changes.
Choose Check whether the users/groups are defined in UME. The check runs and you see the status of all entered groups and users.
Select a track with the status Off.
In the dropdown box, choose the setting On. The track status changes from Off to On.
Select one or more groups or users in the list.
Choose Delete. All selected entries are deleted from the list. The groups or users can no longer work in the selected track.
