You can view the back-end systems from which you have added data services in a model and rename the system aliases if required. This may be useful when system aliases have been changed or when a model is moved between servers that have different aliases for the same back-end systems.

Prerequisites

You have opened a model that contains at least one data service.

Procedure

  1. Open the model or models whose system aliases you want to review and modify.

  2. Choose   Tools   Manage Services  . The Manage Services dialog box opens.

  3. Select the Alias Manager tab.

  4. Select the system(s) whose alias you want to change and click Replace.

    Note Note

You can select multiple systems using the Select All and Clear All buttons, or by clicking the Select button and choosing the alias you want to modify from the dropdown list. All systems with this alias are selected in the list.

    End of the note.
  5. In the New Alias Name dialog box, enter the new system alias that you want to use for the selected data services.

    Note Note

You can view and modify system aliases in all currently open models by selecting the Show aliases in all open models checkbox.

    End of the note.

Result

The selected back-end systems are accessed using the new system aliases. For more information, see Manage Services Dialog Box in the Visual Composer Reference Guide.
