After you have added elements to your model (using the Compose task panel) and you have connected the elements, you need to configure the attributes of each item. You do this using the Configure task panel together with the elements on the Design board.

Prerequisites

You have composed all or part of your model, as described in Composing the Composite View.

Procedure

  1. On the Design board, make sure that nothing is selected (by clicking an empty area) and click the Configure button in the task-panel toolbar. The attributes for the component are displayed in the Configure task panel.

  2. Review the attributes of the component in the Configure task panel and modify them as necessary.

  3. When you have finished configuring the component itself, click each model element and connecting line to display and configure their attributes in the Configure task panel.   4. Define operators, and map and define data, as follows:

    • Right-click operators and from the context menu, choose Define Operator. Configure the options in the displayed dialog box. For full descriptions of the dialog box options, see Operator Dialog Boxes in the Visual Composer Reference Guide.

    • Right-click connecting lines that provide input to a data service, and from the context menu, choose Map Data. In the Map Data dialog box, map the data fields from the input element to the data service. For mapping information, see Mapping Data.     • Right-click connectors and view elements, and from the context menu, choose Define Data. Configure the options in the Define Data dialog box. For full descriptions of the dialog box options, see Define Data Dialog Box in the Visual Composer Reference Guide.

Result

All the model elements have been configured and mapped as needed. You can now define the layout for each view and container element, and configure their fields and controls. You do this on the Layout board. For more information, see Laying Out the UI.
