SAP NetWeaver Voice uses the user management and authentication mechanisms provided by the SAP NetWeaver platform, in particular the SAP NetWeaver Application Server Java. Moreover, the user management and authentication facilities of the SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP must be enforced for connections to SAP back-end systems.

Therefore, the NetWeaver security recommendations and guidelines for user administration apply to SAP NetWeaver Voice. There are various tools for user management available with SAP NetWeaver platform.

The other authentication mechanisms such as X.509 Certificates or SAP Logon Tickets cannot be used for voice-based access.
