Procedure documentationCreating a Project Locate this document in the navigation structure

You create a project to model your business process in it and to store all the service interfaces, tasks, rules and data types you use in the process. The modeled process is the graphical representation of a business process. You need it to visualize the process and to localize weak points and points that can be improved.

Prerequisites

You have configured the necessary development environment in the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio. For more information about configuring the development environment, see Central Development with NWDI.

You may also set up a development track containing only the software components (SC), which you need for your type of development. For more information about setting up the development track, see Setting Up Tracks Using the Configuration Template. For more information about development track templates, see SAP Note 1080927.

Procedure

  1. Choose   File   New   Project  .

  2. In the dialog box that appears, expand Process Composer and select Process Composer Development Component. Choose the Next pushbutton.

  3. Expand the development configuration in which you want to create the development component (DC).

    Note Note

You may have to log on to the development configuration. To do that, click the development configuration name with the secondary mouse button and choose Log on.... In the dialog that appears, log on to the development infrastructure.

    End of the note.
  4. Choose the software component in which you want to create the DC and choose the Next pushbutton.

  5. Specify a vendor name.

  6. Specify a name prefix, if applicable. Specify a name for the new DC and complete the dialog.

    The new project is created.

You may have to open the Process Development perspective. To do that, choose   Window   Open Perspective   Other   Process Development   and choose the OK pushbutton.

    Note Note

If you want to revert some of your changes in the project and the process you have created, this may result in errors in your project. For more information, see SAP Note 1439919.

    End of the note.
