Use and Features

The Configuration Manager repository is also the storage for technical configurations of all deployed applications. Every application has access to its properties, which can be read during runtime.

You can modify the properties using the SAP NetWeaver Administrator.

More information: Modifying Application Properties

Activities

You can monitor the stored configuration data using three different tools:

      Java Configuration Browser

      Java System Reports

      Shell administration commands

More information: Monitoring Configurations

Integration

The Configuration Manager is related to all AS Java modules and all components within the AS Java may use it to store their technical configurations. Applications may also use the Configuration Manager for persisting their properties.

Configuration content can come directly with the deployable binary files of the components in the form of plain-text property files.

The Configuration Manager is one of the building blocks of the Zero Administration concept.

More information: Zero Administration.
