Old Messages 
In the Kernel user menu, you can find a display of the old kernel log.
The messages output to the kernel log knldiag.old support you during the interpretation of the events that occurred before the database system was started.
Procedure
Open the Database Assistant (transaction DB50) or the liveCache Assistant (transaction LC10). Choose

The messages display is a component of the DBA Cockpit and can therefore also be called as follows:
Open DBA Cockpit (transaction DBACOCKPIT).
The display options in DBA Cockpit vary depending on which SAP NetWeaver release you are using.

Result
The log (kernel log knldiag.old) written before the last database start is shown.
You can use the navigation help (Start of File, End of File, Start of Write Cycle, Current Write Position) for orientation within the message files.
Use Import File to update the display.
