Use this procedure to define the basic parameters of an action.
...
1. Open the gallery and choose Create Action from the contextual navigation panel.
The action’s design time opens.
2. From the Original Language dropdown box, select English and choose Create.
3. Enter the required data as follows:
Parameter |
Description |
Name |
Enter an arbitrary name for the action.
Use a comprehensible name because it is used to identify the action in the GP runtime as well. |
Description |
Enter a brief description for the action – for example, describe what it does.
To provide relevant version-specific information or comments, you can use the Additional Info tab in the action’s design time once you have created it. Several rules and restrictions apply when you add or edit info: · You can add comments for the current version of any action in the gallery to which you have access. · You can only edit your own comments. · You cannot edit comments added for previous versions of the action. |
Original Language |
This field shows the language, in which the action definition is created. You choose the original language in Step 2 of the procedure. It is considered for translation purposes. |
Folder |
By default, either the Root folder is displayed, or a folder that you have selected before creating the action. To select another folder from the gallery where the action is to be stored, use Change. |
4. To complete the procedure, choose (Save).
You have created the action object. To be able to activate and use it in a process, you must attach callable objects to it. For more information, see Attaching Callable Objects.
